Got this fix from netgear, should be included in next firmware update
but this may be useful for users still not in that version and
trying to update from linux

Notice that the config is for firmware 2.06.14, so trying to upload to
a different version may brick your switch

It is always safer to update the firmware to probably 2.06.15 (check the
changelog to see if it have the linux fix) from windows first and
bypass this fix

Maybe steps 2 isn't really needed and it is just a firmware reset, you can
try without it first.

** Use at your own risk **

1- Login to the switch
2- Upload the GS108Ev3_2.06.14EN.bin.key (or GR or JP versions if you
   have those versions)
3- Access the http://(switch-ip)/bootcode_update.htm
4- Login using Admin1NtgrDebugUser and your switch password
5- Upload the bootloader file GS108Ev3_LOADER_V2.06.03.bin
6- Reboot

the bootloader now should allow firmware update from linux

good luck
